Student Mentorship Programme

Amparo is excited to be offering a mentorship programme in 2026.

 

Amparo is a doctor and medical herbalist based in Valencia, Spain. They combine their work as a GP with an ongoing herbal medicine practice, drawing on over a decade of clinical experience.

 

After graduating with a BSc in Herbal Medicine from the University of Westminster in 2013, Amparo worked full time at Hydes Herbal Clinic in Leicester and later ran a busy clinic in their hometown of Guardamar, Spain. They went on to complete a medical degree at the University of Dundee while continuing to see herbal patients.

​Amparo is a registered member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the UK’s General Medical Council. They lecture, write, and examine for Heartwood Education, supporting the next generation of herbal practitioners.

Applications open for February – April 2026

The Student Mentorship Programme is designed for herbal medicine students who want structured support with their studies, casework and clinical thinking. It will be offered in a small-group format (maximum 5 people).

Who is this for?

Herbal medicine students currently enrolled on a course.

What will be offered:

Monthly 90-minute group mentoring call

These monthly sessions are a chance to bring:

​

  • Discussion of your cases

  • Questions about conditions, herbs, prescriptions or safety

  • Exam prep

  • Physical examination questions

  • Anything you feel stuck on or want clarity with

​

The group size is kept small, so everyone gets time and attention.

Monthly recorded learning session

​

Each month you’ll receive a focused recorded learning session (20 minutes).


Topics will match the level of the group and may include:

​

  • Herbs and their clinical applications

  • Clinical thinking

  • Treatment strategies and prescription building

​

You can watch at your own pace.

Monthly "ask me anything" email

​

A chance to ask Amparo a focused question about herbs, conditions, study skills, clinical assessments, or anything that would benefit from a deeper explanation.

Year-of-study grouping

Students will be selected based on year of study, to ensure the group is made up of students working at a similar level, so conversations feel relevant and comfortable for everyone.

Dates

Late February 2026 to late April 2026

  • One group call per month

  • One recorded learning session per month

  • One email-question window per month

​​

Exact dates will be confirmed once the group is formed so the group can agree on a suitable dates and time.

Price

£225 for the 3-month programme.
This includes all zoom calls, lectures, and monthly email support.

How to Join

Applications are open from now until December 7th.


This is a very short application form.

It will take you between 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

You’ll be asked about your year of study, your course, and what you’re hoping to get out of the mentorship.

Selection will be based on the number of people interested per year group or similar level of study, not on what you write on the application.

You’ll receive a response within two weeks of the application closing date.
